Power Picker – Advanced Fiber Preparation
Proper fiber preparation is the foundation of successful carding. Effective
picking and pre-conditioning dramatically improve carding efficiency, fiber
quality, and final results. Our Power Picker has earned a strong
reputation among customers as one of the finest power pickers available on

The Brother “Ultra Power Picker” incorporates newer
technology and safety features to further refine and improve upon the original
Patrick Green picker design. These advancements allow the Power Picker to handle
fine and delicate fibers with greater care, better opening/teasing clean, sound
fibers—without damage or breakage.
Designed to gently yet thoroughly open fibers, the Power Picker excels at teasing
wool, blending colors, and combining multiple fiber types prior to carding. Its
efficient design allows for high-volume processing, opening large quantities of
fiber in a short amount of time. Many spinners choose to spin directly from the
Picker.
The system is capable of processing approximately 15–20 pounds of fiber
per hour. A 60-inch speed-controlled infeed conveyor belt delivers fiber
evenly to the infeed rollers, which precisely meter material into the picker
rotor. Smooth picker points, combined with controlled airflow, gently open fibers
without damage.
Safety and visibility are integral to the design. The machine is fully equipped
with safety sensors and emergency stop controls, and features clear polycarbonate
side panels to protect the operator while providing full visibility of the fiber
as it is processed.
